Tweeters,
It was a good round of shorebirding at Ridgefield NWR, Clark County this
morning although total number of shorebirds was way down from last week:
AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER 1
Semipalmated Plover 6
Killdeer 30
Baird's Sandpiper 1
Least Sandpiper 20
Western Sandpiper 14
Pectoral Sandpiper 8
Greater Yellowlegs 2
Also of note was an apparent raptor movement:
Turkey Vulture 11 (maybe four of them were "locals")
Peregrine 2 (one local)
Merlin
American Kestrel 2 (possibly both locals)
Osprey 4
Cooper's Hawk 1
Bank Swallow, Purple Martin, Green Heron, and the season's first (for
me) flock of American Pipits (15) rounded out the show.
Keep your eyes and ears skyward.
Jim
