Here is the official schedule for our 4th Swift Night Out in Monroe:

The annual "Monroe Swift Night Out" will be held on September 10,
2011 from 4:00 p.m. to dusk at the Frank Wagner Elementary School,
639 W Main St, Monroe, Washington (Old Town Monroe on Main Street,
between Kelsey St. and Dickinson Rd.)

Watch thousands of Vaux's Swifts squeeze themselves into a 4-foot
square chimney - the second largest gathering of these swifts in
North America. These tiny birds are on their southward migration
after nesting in the north plus in a few local chimneys.

There will be a lecture in the school auditorium at 6:30 p.m. by
Larry Schwitters and docents will be available from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
to answer questions. There will also be a variety of educational
booths including Seattle Audubon, Bats Northwest, The Grizzly
Project, Sarvey Wildlife plus Jeff and Freedom, the Bald Eagle, plus
games for kids.

Lots of yummy foods including a spaghetti feed starting at 4p.m.
along with fire-roasted pizza, Hot Diggity Dog, Vick's Grill and
Linda's Desserts will be available.

But best of all will be the chance to watch the swifts' aerial
performances in the sky and, finally, their amazing dive into the
chimney just before dark.

Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and watch the best free show
around! Dogs and children welcome . . .
