A very foggy pelagic trip still managed to produce some excellent sightings of expected pelagic birds. This trip was mostly attended by the VENT TOUR led by Bob Sundstrom with Scott Mills and myself as leaders for Westport Seabirds. The fog kept us from recording the numbers of birds for some of our trip but we were able to get good numbers coming back to shore. The following species of birds and mammals were observed.

Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel
Leach's Storm-Petrel
Brown Pelican
Brandt's Cormorant
Double-crested Cormorant
Pelagic Cormorant
Great Blue Heron- on jetty going out
BAR-TAILED GODWIT-2 ( in the godwit flock near float 21, observed from boat coming in)
Marbled Godwit
Short-billed Dowitcher (seen within the godwit flock)
Red-necked Phalarope
Red Phalarope
South Polar Skua-4
Pomarine Jaeger-4
Parasitic Jaeger-1
Heermann's Gull
California Gull
Herring Gull
Glaucous-winged Gull
Western Gull
Common Murre
Pigeon Guillemot
Cassin's Auklet
Rhinoceros Auklet
Tufted Puffin

Humpback Whale, Northern Fur Seal, Elephant Seal, Harbor Seal, California Sea Lion and Harbor Porpoise were the mammals seen.
