Hello Tweeters,
I birdied the area today where the Franklin's Gull was sighted.Running in to
Carol Schulz, who had this last Gull book with the Gull on the front of this
Book,.I did not have this book ,but in the Gulls North America Europe and
Asia there have not this all brown plumage in.It is amazing how many
different bird books one must have. But to my knowledge ,and I have least 6
sighting of this species but never in the juvenile plumage. So I have to get
this Gullbook. On the Log Boom there where about 250 Bonaparte's gulls &some
coming from the point Defiance side flying in plus 5 Common Terns, what was
for me the first of the season. As Marcus mention about all the other
Gulls, make this place really exiting to watch. We would not missed the
Franklin
Gull, this bird would be stand out in this plumage,But also we saw over
thousand's Gulls across the waters flying always up,this Gull could be easy
went to the other side of the Bay.I have in my big Gull Book 1 photo first
winter bird, what comes not even close to the other new Gull book where this
bird is light brown all over, never with all my many sightings and always
photos that ever saw this Franklin Gull in this plumage.

Cheers Ruth Sullivan.
