Over the past couple of evenings I've been hearing multiple owls in the woods near the house, in the cemetery just to the north and this evening right in my front yard. This evening there were at least 5 separate Western Screech Owls calling back and forth and a single deep voiced owl that I think was Great Horned, but might have been a Barred as something just wasn't right for GHOW. I was able to call in one of the Screech Owls and saw it fly across the road and land in a cedar tree in my front yard. Early this morning I also saw a Barn Owl flying out of the cemetery carrying a rat. Even as I sit here typing this message I can hear 2 Screeches calling and just had one of them do the crazy monkey in the jungle call. Lots of fun.
