Hi Tweeters,

I found a dead Fork-tailed Storm Petrel in the road on Monday near the Ocean Shores STP access to the game range.? It looked like a Peregrine kill, with pretty awful head wounds but it also had a ripped open vent.? It did not look like it had been run over.? At first I thought it was a swallow but we don't have gray swallows.? I picked it up for the Burke and when I got home and was transfering it out of grocery bags to a ziploc to put into the freezer I was amazed at how fish oily it smelled.? The tubenose is intact and is pretty cool.

Otherwise I can't add anything to all the coastal reports other than the Purple Martins fledged at Tokeland and there were 5 of them flying and perching on the tall pole in the small field.
