Tweeters, Sorry to bring up an unrelated subject...... Not long ago, a gentleman posted a request for lowland Puget sound cricket 'sightings'. Two weeks ago when we had a few hot days, I heard crickets around 6 pm at a stop light near the Renton DOT maintenance facility. Elevation there is approximately 400'. Today, I heard a few more in the grass at a retention pond near my house in Maplewood Heights. It was about 2 pm and we are at an elevation of approximately 480'. If anyone knows who made this request, please forward this message on to them. On a birdier note- I had large flocks of Black-capped and Chestnut-backed Chickadees, Golden-crowned Kinglets, Red-breasted Nuthatches, and Brown Creepers moving through my yard this morning. Each group was constantly moving from at a very fast and noisy pace. Cheers, Amy SchillingerRenton, WAschillingera at hotmail.com
