In planning our 10 day trip to the Pacific Northwest we subscribed to this
list to see what we might find. We were totally amazed at the sophistication
of you Washington birders! Details....WOW! We were able to go directly to
several of the spots we were interested in just by using your posts...and we
did find some old friends and two lifers.

A stop at the Edmonds Marsh was a problem because of late day traffic but we
managed to find a kind gentleman who directed us just two blocks...though an
industrial building complex to the Marsh parking area. How kind, even
nonbirders, are when you act sufficiently dumb.

A morning spent with Barbara Begg at Saanichton, B.C. got us one of our life
birds...the Skylark. Unfortunately the field where the birds have been
hanging out has a huge house being built in it. The field is directly across
the highway from the 'Waddling Dog" motel, turn right at the first street.
You can't miss the house it's huge. The birds may not be there much longer.

We wish we had planned for more time but life is that way. I'd bet we will be
monitoring your posts with plans to come back as soon as possible. Thanks
all.

P.S. We had spectacular weather all 10 days. You indeed do have some
wonderful mountains and lots of trees.
