A close friend has sent me a photo and description of a small hawk
that appears to be a BROAD-WINGED HAWK. You can judge for
yourself at:

The photo shrank some on upload and is bleached out some, but a close look
reveals a small buteo, with a dark-and-white banded tail from below and
(though faint with bleaching) a rusty-barred upper breast, among others.

One recalls the Nigel Ball BW Hawk from Neah Bay and the Victoria BC
birds...Good work in there Greg! September is the month...
