Hi Tweets,

Third day in a row of muggy weather. That kept bird walking at a slow
pace this morning. East Coast folks would probably laugh at my
complaints of humidity but I'm just a West Coast Weather Wimp. At any
rate, the most interesting birds in the Edmonds Bowl this morning were
a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK by the Willow Creek Hatchery, VAUX'S SWIFTS over
Point Edwards, and a COMMON LOON flying over the Sound.

There were more boats than birds on the Sound, but there were good
numbers of RHINOCEROS AUKLETS and PIGEON GUILLEMOTS. Dennis Duffy had
one COMMON MURRE before I joined him on the public pier. Other
waterfront birds included CANADA GOOSE, SURF SCOTERS, GREAT BLUE
HERON, OSPREY, HEERMANN'S, GLAUCOUS-WINGED, and CALIFORNIA GULLS,
PELAGIC CORMORANT, and BELTED KINGFISHER.

Near the Hatchery, there were lots of NORTHERN FLICKERS, one female
DOWNY, and one PILEATED WOODPECKER. Lots of ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS were
active. BARN SWALLOWS were seen, as were CROWS and STELLER'S JAYS.
Ducks included MALLARDS, GADWALLS, and NORTHERN SHOVELER. We saw one
KILLDEER in the Marsh. We only found two Sparrows along the Point
Edwards public path: SONG and WHITE-CROWNED.
