Hello Tweeters,
OUR Group from the Black Hill Audubon met this morning at 7.00 Am at
Nisqually.The Walk is in remembrance of Patrick Sullivan who died on
September 2007.It was predicted be raining,but it was holding off to we
finished our walk.The wind picked up in the end.
Here are the birds we saw:
1 juvenile Red-tailed Hawk(close to the parking Lot, I GREAT EGRET( flying
high over tall trees direction freeway )
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk (on snag close to Barn.)
On the Barn overlooking the refuge ,the birds start moving,we had quite few
birds here as:3 Lincoln Sparrows,White crowned & Golden crowned
Sparrows,many Savannah Sparrows ,Towhee,and 1 leucistic A.Robin feeding on
all the many black berries.We also had over 10 Song Sparrows most all on the
Boardwalk with 1 Bewicks Wren.
The second Egret we found walking the Dike,close to the boardwalk going out
to the tip..We also had quite few Barn Swallows mix in few Violet green
Swallows and 4 adult Bald Eagle.All in all it was a nice morning to remember
Patrick.
