Maxine,

A few years ago I saw a Marbled Godwit and Bar-tailed Godwit in Blaine with a flock of Black-bellied Plovers. There definitely seemed to be a kinship between the two godwits. They stayed near each other most of the time.

> hi tweeters-yesterday i was lucky enough to see 2 godwits on the spit w/ the large flock of black bellied plovers--it was the first time i've seen 1 of each together. what was very interesting to me was how they stayed right together both on the shore + flying-like the were best buddies!--i did get a few pics--one flying pic shows all 3 species together---you can see the difference in the white supercilium + dark head of the BTGO + also you can see the bar tail + the 2 different lengths of leg protrusion past the tail, the BTGO 's legs being shorter.today when i checked they were gone, repalced by a sole greater yellowlegs w/ the many BBPL--off to tokeland?--if anyone wants a couple of pics, email me--
