For the first two weeks in March, I was away from home and no one
re-filled the feeders during that time. Usually, it takes only a day or
two for the resident birds to return, and the juncos, chickadees
(black-capped and chestnut backed), nuthatch, towee and varied thrush
did reappear in that time frame. But this was the first day that I've
seen Evening Grosbeak here and the Pine Siskins still have not returned.
