Hi Tweets -

Interesting weekend out here in the sticks. Cold, rainy, windy and lots of waterfowl.

The highlights were a red-breasted merganser on Bank's Lake at Steamboat Rock and a Eurasian wigeon drake at the south end of Banks just north of Coulee City on Saturday.

I thought that was pretty cool until we headed for Spokane today for a shopping trip. The Reardan Ponds were covered with ducks at noon. Even with the "help" of two bald eagles and a pair of harriers, I counted four Eurasian wigeon drakes (I'm not manly enough to try to try to tell the difference between American and Eurasian hens).
