Subject: [Tweeters] New bird song and call play-back tool

As cool as that unit sounds, what I am waiting for is a smartphone
program that would "listen" to a call and make an ID based off of it.
If the people at Shazam can do it for 10s if not 100s of thousands of
songs based off of a 6-10 second clip, surely someone could replicate
that technology for a much smaller database of bird songs. Once
again, incorporating GPS data to filter out similar-sounding yet
geographically unlikely species would be an amazing feature.
