I also have Juncos year round in my west Shoreline yard. I always thought it was because of our nearness to the woods of Boeing Creek & Shoreline CC--a couple of blocks away. The neighborhood in general has a fair number of conifers, we have 4 large ones. Last year juncos nested low in my neighbor's topped spruce trees that have become hedge-like.
