Phil and Shep's always great Nisqually reports reminded me that last Tuesday, eight days ago, two of us heard and saw 14+ Greater Yellowlegs and one Snipe. Near dark at least three small bats flew near me on the road to Twin barns. Frogs were pleasantly croaking as a chorus with a few standout performances, from the inner ponds.

Earlier in the evening and a first for me, I watched Wood ducks flying around the trees and landing on branches near the Great Horned owl nest tree, apparently looking for nesting sites. Very neat.
