Tweeters,

I just wanted to thank everyone who replied to my request for information about birding in the seattle area at the end of March. My girlfriend and I were there from March 24 to April 1, and despite having to work, managed to spend 4 full days birding as well as one morning, two afternoons, and a lunch hour. I had a great time and got 14 lifers as well as many species I had only seen once or twice before. I also enjoyed many new subspecies and got almost all of my target birds. I included the list of my personal highlights, many of which I was hoping to see. In Seattle, we birded Alki Beach, Montlake Fill, UW Arboretum, Marymoor Park, and Juanita Bay Park. We also birded the Edmonds Pier, Richmond Beach Park, Skagit Flats, Port Townsend (Keystone Ferry), Point Wilson, John Wayne Marina, Railroad Bridge Park, Dungeness Bay, Ediz Hook, La Push, Hoh Rainforest, Lake Quinault, and Ocean Shores. We saw 116 species total for the trip. We also got four life mammals: California Sea Lion, Pacific Harbor Seal, Douglas's Squirrel, and Elk (also Columbian Black-tailed Deer). The weather was also pretty cooperative and I was able to get many more decent photos than I was expecting. I definitely hope to make another trip in the future.

Thanks again,
