Subject: [Tweeters] Ridgefield NWR baby eagles !!!

hi all ... spent the afternoon at Ridgefield Refuge ... and
definitely baby eagles in the eagle nest !!! ... the chicks are
easily seen with 8x binoculars ... watched one fuzzy white chick
being fed by "mom" ... it appeared she was feeding a second chick
too, but that one never popped up into view ... the nest is best seen
about halfway along the section of the loop drive as the drive
parallels Lake River ...

also, the male and female Surf Scoters were still there on South
Quigley Lake ... but the "highlight" of the day (IMHO) was the
breeding-plumaged Horned Grebe in the canal along side the road
between North and South Quigley Lakes ... a beautiful bird ...
