I will write at more length later, but just
returned from a very fun trip to Ilwaco and other
points along the way. SPECTACULAR weather!!! And
immediate success finding and photographing the
Yellow Billed Loon at the Ilwaco Marina. I got
there at 8:00 a.m. (left very early - more on that
in later post) and found the bird just off the
westernmost dock in the marina. I had been
worried since the tide was very low - but
obviously not an issue. And the light was
PERFECT. Later the bird moved to other areas of
the marina but was relocated fairly easily.
I would welcome some ID help on two birds: one is
a grebe (found at Black's Lake in Ilwaco) and the
other is a shorebird found at the Ilwaco Marina.
Pictures of both (with another contrasting grebe)
are found at

Your input and analysis will be greatly
appreciated. Thank you. More later...
