Hi all,
Just returned from Eastern Washington after racking up about 800 miles and
over 90 species. I really needed to get out! It was a great trip and
fairly good weather. Followed up on some previous posts from the last
couple of weeks.
Highlights included:
LEWIS'S WOODPECKER- Many at Balch road near Lyle. Thanks Wilson Cady
WILD TURKEY- Also on Balch Road
LONG-BILLED CURLEW- 2 on hwy 24 and about a dozen on hwy 240
BURROWING OWL- 2 on a burrow on hwy 240 at the same location with the
Curlews. Noticed them while watching the Curlews. 2 on a fence along hwy
17 South of Soap lake.
SAGE SPARROW- 2 on the trails above Gingko park in Vantage.
BLACK-NECKED STILT- 2 near Pumphouse Road and I beleive its Old Goldendale
Road. About 7-8 on Frenchman Hills Road.
A very fun trip.
