Tweets,

With the warmer weather, I've been getting my kayak into the water at
Marymoor, as well as doing some trail walks, all with camera in hand.

My latest blog features shots of a trumpeting Song Sparrow, bathing
Savannah Sparrow, wing-stretching Blackbird, low-lying Merganser
drake, and a W.C. Fields special ("Ahhh yes, my little chickadee!"). Enjoy:

May I also mention that someone just showed me the BirdsEye app for
iPod/iPhone and I was impressed enough to buy it as soon as I got
home. No, it has nothing to do with frozen vegetables. Rather, it
pings the Cornell database of bird sightings and selectively reports
which birds have been seen for a location of your choice, or it will
report the nearest sightings of any bird you designate. It even
stores the data for offline use, so your device need not be connected
while out in the field. Gosh, the day may come when we birders don't
even need to talk to one another ;( . Still, for under $20 it seems
like a great tool to have on hand.
