Saw the post about a possible Ross's Goose at Charlton Lake in Tacoma and
stopped by there after work today. A cool little lake that I never knew
about. The goose was located on the other side of the lake behind some
houses a bit too far to get a good photo. I drove around and a couple
working in their yard were very kind and allowed me to access their back
yard and take a couple photos. Real nice folks. I have never seen a Ross's
Goose other than in a field guide but this bird appears more like a Snow
Goose to me,(blocky head, not too stubby bill) but I am unsure. I posted a
couple of photos for those of you who would like to see for yourselves.
Either way it is a new lake for me that I will probably check out again in
