Hello,
My friend Bob Purdy joined me for a late afternoon (after 6:30pm) and
evening birding experience. The birds were not many, but they were fun. Up
along the road to the ski area, we found Varied Thrush, Steller's Jay,
Chestnut backed Chickadee, Hairy Woodpecker, Pine Grosbeak, and one Barred
Owl that called only four times.
At 7:45pm near the Kit Carson Trail, we had a very cooperative pair of
Barred Owls that serenaded us for a long time and a N Saw Whet Owl called
from a distance as well.
Another N Saw Whet was located further down the mountain and our faithful
pair of W Screech Owls entertained us, too.
A fun night.
Blessings
