Hi all...While you were under a rain event along the I-5 corridor, we here
at the beach were experiencing some pretty decent weather. I took the dog
for a ball-chasing session just north of the Damon Rd access (northern
border of Ocean Shores) and found hundreds of Marbled Godwits, mixed
with dowitchers, the first of the season Black-bellied Plovers, Dunlin and
Sanderling, with several groups scattered between the Best Western
Lighthouse Inn and the Quinault Beach Resort...total numbers in the several
thousands. I was surprised to see that many godwits and dowitchers; they
weren't out there two days ago!
