Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

Conspicuous migrants during the week included YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD, SAY?S
PHOEBE, and CASSIN?S VIREO.

A late GLAUCOUS GULL was on the North Spit of Coos Bay April 6. A PURPLE
MARTIN was there the next day. A CHIPPING SPARROW and a LONG-TAILED DUCK
were on the Spit April 9. On April 8 a lingering RED PHALAROPE was at
Tenmile Creek in northern Coos County. An early VAUX?S SWIFT was at
Tillamook April 8.

On April 7 a SNOWY EGRET was at the Scappoose Sewage Ponds. A male and
female SURF SCOTER and a breeding plumaged HORNED GREBE were at quiqley Lake
at Ridgefield NWR during the week. The Vancouver MOCKINGBIRD continues to be
seen. A BLUE-WINGED TEAL was on Sauvie Island April 6. The Rentenaar Road
HARRIS?S SPARROW continues to be seen. On April 6 a SAGE THRASHER was at
Steigerwald NWR near Washougal. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was there April 10. The
breeding plumaged RED-NECKED GREBE is still on the Columbia River at Chinook
Landing. Two BREWER?S SPARROWS, a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, and the LOGGERHEAD
SHRIKE continue along Swigert Avenue at the Troutdale Airport.

On April 5 nine WHITE PELICANS were over midtown Portland. A WILSON?S
WARBLER was reported April 9 in NE Portland. On April 6 a breeding plumaged
HORNED GREBE was on Lake Oswego. A LONG-EARED OWL was seen April 7 in
Silverton. A late NORTHERN SHRIKE was at Sheridan April 6. Another was seen
the next day at the EE Wilson SWA north of Corvallis. The Finley NWR
GYRFALCON was seen again April 8. Ten BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Finley NWR
and several were at Fern Ridge Reservoir April 9. The Alvadore MOCKINGBIRD
continues to be seen.

During the week several hundred WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, 21 WHITE PELICANS, and
four BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Houston Lake near Powell Butte. Two
BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Hatfield Lake April 7. The next day two STILTS
and five WHITE PELICANS were near Alfalfa, south of Powell Butte. On April 7
eight WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS were in the Crooked River Canyon south of
Prineville. On April 9 six were at Smith Rocks State Park.
