Beaver Lake was stocked with fish last week.? Double-crested cormorants have a very effective communication system.? My son and his daughers counted 75 on the lake yesterday.

The day before my wife and I went for a "cruise" on the lake.? Despite one end of the lake being crowded with boats we saw numerous buffleheads,?several double-crested cormorant, mallards, an osprey, 3 bald eagles soaring overhead, a male and 3 female common mergansers , a common loon, 3 wood ducks,? 3 hooded mergansers and several canada geese.? There was also a gull.? Our best guess is that it was a ring-billed gull.? We only saw it in flight at a distance.
