saw a strange drake sharing the log in the pond on the road into the rowing
club at morymoor around noon. head was as big as a mallard but had the
'comma' through the eye of a green-winged teal. i did not notice a
horizontal stripe on the body, and there was definitely no vertical stripe,
so i guess one could argue either of the teal as a co-miscegenator. breast
was big and bronze. odd combo.

there's also an elegantly slim white crowned sparrow at the sand piles
(what's left after the track hoe was busy all afternoon friday. lots of
golden crowned sparrows, too.

regards,
