That's my guy. ?He's a real poser for pictures. ?I have some pictures but yours is much better since all I have is a point and shoot. ?I was very tired and misspelled it. ?His name is Rufous. ?The back story is that when I was about 7-8 yo I read a book called "Rufous Red Tail" about a Hawk. ?My parents called any hawk a Chicken Hawk and considered them all a nuisance. ? The books message was the beneficial role that raptors play and ?I really liked it and for some reason the name stuck with me. ?Many years later I learned that rufous mean?reddish-brown and the birds name was a cute play on words. ?So some 55 years later I finally came across a real life Reddish-Brown Red Tail I meet often enough to recognize as an individual creature. ? ??
