Subject: [Tweeters] Steigerwald NWR Vesper Sparrow

This morning, I traveled to Steigerwald NWR in hopes of finding the
reported Brant. No luck after searching through many Cacklers in the field
just west of the refuge.
I did however find a VESPER SPARROW upon exiting the refuge. The bird flew
from under the sign at the entrance on Hwy 14, in front of my vehicle and
landed perched up
next to the entrance road. The white outer tail feathers immediately
caught my attention while the bird was in flight and I got good confirming
looks of the bird perched.
I also may have heard the bird singing from the parking
area when I first arrived, but I wrote it off to a weird sounding
White-crowned at the time.
