Made a quick trip through Malheur yesterday. Lots of water in the fields up by Burns so had plentiful birds. Especially Snow Geese. Spring hasn't quite arrived at the refuge as the trees were not leafed out as in past years.

For someone that has not been to the refuge before I recommend stopping at the refuge headquarters (or P Ranch if coming from that direction) to pick up a free cd that describes the history and birds of the area as you drive down the Center Patrol Road. You pick the cd up at one end and drop if off at the other end.
