Hello All,
We were out for four hours today and saw the following species of note in western Walla Walla County.
Greater Scaup-350 + off Two Rivers HMU-very high numbers for site and season
Lesser Scaup-200+ off Two River HMU
Red-breasted Merganser-30 birds off Two Rivers HMU, high numbers for site and season.
COMMON TERN-1ad. first spring record for us in Walla Walla County. watched for 15 min.- at Two Rivers HMU
Bald Eagle-1 sub-adult, getting late for site.
Horned Grebe-15 alt. plumaged birds off Two Rivers HMU
House Wren-1 ad. at Two Rivers HMU
Caspian Terns- 300+ on the WWRdelta, 120 at Two Rivers HMU
Great Horned Owl-1 ad. Two Rivers HMU
Glaucous Gull-1 second spring bird-on the WWR delta
Western Gull-1 ad. on the WWR delta
Dunlin-10 birds-WWRdelta
American White Pelicans-300+ on Badger Island nesting.
Am.Avocet-10 birds on the WWRdelta
Other species of note seen by other birders today were....
Western Kingbird-Dodd RD., Lowden and Burbank
Bullocks Oriole-WWRdelta
Long-billed Curlew-Western WW Co.
