Bowerman was disappointing today, a bunch of people enjoying the sun and
wondering if any shorebirds would show up close to high tide. They didn't. A
couple of Peregrine Falcons came by.

A small gathering of Semipalmated Plovers, Western Sandpipers, Dunlin, and
Least Sandpipers settled in on the margin of the sewage treatment ponds so
that helped a bit.

I was hoping for some Horned Grebes in breeding plumage, maybe a Pacific
Loon in breeding plumage, at the Ocean Shores marina. It didn't work out.
There were, however, some good looking Common Loons that didn't mind coming
close. Also a Eurasian Collared Dove that foraged among the rocks and the
Fucus.

The ocean beach, west of Ocean Shores, was packed with humans. It seemed the
only bird willing to share it with so much humanity were gulls.

Along Burrows Roads, about 8 Greater Yellowlegs waded around in a cranberry
bog. That was an interesting sight.

Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll try again.
