Yesterday morning Ted Peterson had several LEAST SANDPIPERS at Edmonds
Marsh. I had looked at 7 a.m. and it was empty so I headed to Grays
Harbor County for the day to get my eyes full of shorebirds. This
morning (4-22-12) there were at least one DUNLIN in alternate plumage,
several WESTERN SANDPIPERS, and a small flock (20-30) of LEASTS flying
and flashing about. With a VIRGINIA RAIL calling, ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERS in the deciduous trees, and BARN and VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS,
it is beginning to feel like migration has come to the marsh.
