Spent the day birding Cle Elum, Teanaway and Ellensburg. The best highlights were shorebirds. There was a Solitary Sandpiper 1.3 up the Middle Fork of the Teanaway Rd at a small pond on the left this morning. This afternoon there were 11 Least Sandpiper at the Bar-14 Pond in Ellensburg. Those combined with the four regular breeding species of shorebird (spotted sandpiper, killdeer, long-billed curlew and Wilson's snipe) yielded a six shorebird day, not bad.

Also had some first of spring birds today:

Common Yellowthroat-Teanaway Bridge Marsh and Cle Elum RR Ponds
Sora-Teanaway Bridge Marsh and Cle Elum RR Ponds
House Wren-Cle Elum RR Ponds
Harlequin Duck-North Fork of Teanaway
Western Kingbird-Parke Creek Rd (south of Vantage Hwy)
Red-breasted Sapsucker-Teanaway Rd

A very nice day to be out.
