Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 26. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On April 25 a male GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was at the Hart Mountain NAR
Headquarters. An April 17 offshore boat trip about 45 miles off Central and
southern Oregon found seven MURPHY?S PETRELS, two COOK?S PETRELS, 18
PARAKEET AUKLETS, and a HORNED PUFFIN among more regular species.

Conspicuous movements during the week brought many geese, shorebirds,
warblers, vireos, and flycatchers. Also arriving were BLACK-HEADED
GROSBEAKS, WESTERN TANAGERS, YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS, and LEWIS?S
WOODPECKERS. Heavy northward movements of PACIFIC and RED-THROATED LOONS
were seen along the coast.

On April 21 a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was near Brookings. Another was seen the
next day along with three RED KNOTS at New River. Also on April 22 was a
SAGE THRASHER near Flores Lake. A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was on the North
Spit of Coos Bay April 19. A PALM WARBLER was there the next day.

On April 24, 16 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were in Woodland Bottoms, Washington.
Small numbers of WHITE PELICANS are still being seen in the Portland/Sauvie
Island area. Two BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were seen April 21 at Jackson Bottom
in Hillsboro. On April 22 a BLACK-NECKED STILT was at Jackson Bottom and
five were at Ankeny NWR. On April 20 a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was at Finley
NWR. Nine were at Fern Ridge Reservoir April 23.

On April 22 a HARRIS?S SPARROW was at Ione, north of Heppner. A WHITE-FACED
IBIS was at Hatfield Lake near Bend April 21. The next day a LAPLAND
LONGSPUR was there. A WILSON?S PHALAROPE was at Hatfield Lake April 24.

That?s it for this week.
