Subject: [Tweeters] Request (from Tasmania) for Bar-tailed Godwit photos
Date: Apr 26 09:40:07 2012
From: Adam Sedgley - sedge.thrasher at gmail.com

Hi Tweets,

I received the following inquiry from a newspaper publisher in Tasmania who
is looking for images of Bar-tailed Godwits from Washington to connect its
migration between Alaska and Australia. I mentioned that Bar-tailed Godwits
are not a common migrant here, but he's still interested in making the
connection through photographs from its clockwise migration around the
Pacific Ocean.

Thank you for your assistance in this Adam. If you can pass on the
challenge to your locals, that would be fantastic. As well as being a
challenging photo comp, it is also an interesting exercise in following the
connection of the Godwit's migrations.****

Hi there, I am writing from south east Tasmania, Australia.****

** **

I publish a local newspaper and am challenging locals here to capture the
departure of the two barred godwit as pictured below, which I believe will
turn up in your region around June July.****

** **

I would like to invite your members to submit photos of their arrival, or
shots of their journey. I anticipate that we will be holding a local
exhibition in 2013 if this all comes together, obviously that same
exhibition could feature our photos in some forum in your locality. What
do you think?****

If you would like to participate in any way I would love to hear back from
you. ****

Yours sincerely****
