Saturday will be day 23 (22 based on majority) from hatching. Everyone, except for myself, are very relaxed. They are feeding on an hourly basis; they do fifteen to twenty minutes of swift feeding, and they leave the kids alone for about an hour at a time. Dad is going to the second nest during that time; mom relaxes. The hatchlings are really making noise now, they are looking for mom and dad, the chicks start squawking before the parent arrives, and long after they leave, which is still one second in and out, but the mother is going up after delivering food and walking around the nest area, she is showing them the way out. The area around the nest is well covered, and their are walkways to each side of the nest, a large brood could perch themselves their easily, and not be seen. If it were not for destructive people this location they have is absolutely the perfect dipper location.
