Hello all,
Driving home from work on last Wednesday I noticed a large bird
sitting on a cell phone tower on the west side of I-405 just south of
Totem Lake. I wasn't able t to confirm the ID, but I did notice that
there seemed to be a large nest built into the tower so I had my
suspicions. Today I got my first chance to take a better look and
confirmed that it was an Osprey nest and had a bird on the nest when I
arrived, although it left the nest a few minutes later. The nest is
located between 120th Ave NE and I-405 right where 120th Ave NE
crosses the train tracks. Decent scope or even binocular views are
available from parking lots across the street.

In completely unrelated news, I saw a Peregrine Falcon sitting a light
pole on the west end of the I-90 bridge last night.
