Any tweeters have guidance for successfully designing and installing a freestanding barn swallow nest platform on a pole or post? I have the design from WDFW website http://wdfw.wa.gov/living/swallows.html but this platform seems like it would be too exposed if mounted on a pole. Anyone have success with this or other designs? Suggested platform height? Orientation? Likelihood of success?

The location is already frequented by barn swallows that are currently nesting in a location that causes grief for some people. For next year's breeding season, we are considering establishing an alternate nesting location nearby and would love some expert help.
