Since Monday we have witnessed the continuing phenomenon of periodic
feeding freenzies along Ocean Shores and Copalis Beach. It is amazing to
see tens of thousands of them streaming by in seemingly endless numbers.
When they are feeding there is almost a cyclone! This afternoon, just after
the low tide turned there was an incredible rush of shearwater, gulls, and
Common murres feeding about 75 yds. offshore - just at the surf line. A
truly amazing sight and a splendid chance to study them at close range for
as long as you care to watch.
Good birding to all!
