?ventually the eaglet?found the fish and?ate it.? Bill Anderson; Edmonds, WA. USA
Tuesday afternoon (7/31) I went over to Lake Ballinger in Mountlake Terrace to check on the eaglet.? As I expected, it was fledging.???I was not there long before one parent returned with a fish.??The parent and the eaglet, which?was?in the top of the nest tree,?called to each other.?? The parent made a lap around the nest tree.??The?eaglet?flew?a lap of its own after the parent landed in the nest with the fish.???The eaglet?did not immediatley go to the nest but remained in some branches to one side.? The parent flew to a nearby snag, then took off towards Puget Sound.???E

I also saw a merlin and a western tanager.?? Three osprey were?soaring over the?lake and flying circles south of 205th St.? I believe it was a family outting?of the osprey residing in the nest high atop the cell phone tower on 205th St. just west of I-5. ?
