Subject: [Tweeters] Sooty Shearwaters at Ocean Shores-28, 29 July

I was out on the Ocean Shores jetty on Sunday afternoon and didn't see a
single shearwater. There were plenty of Brown Pelicans, Heerman's and
California Gulls though. At one point, looking down between the huge
boulders of the jetty, I saw dozens of dead anchovies, still fresh and
shiny, lying on the substrate. Is it the anchovies that are the source of
the feeding frenzy? Seems likely.
