Thursday afternoon I photographed an osprey diving for fish off Sunset Ave.?in Edmonds. ? There was nothing unusual about the start of the dive, but I thought the osprey remained in the water?an inordinate amount of time.??? It dove into a bed of floating kelp and I believe became entangled in?the kelp?before finally flying out.????Most osprey are in and out of the water quite quickly, especially when they come up empty.? According to the times on my photos, this one spent about 20 seconds in the water.? I hope it learned its lesson and avoids diving into kelp beds in the future.
