There was a first year Yellow-headed Blackbird working the northern
shoreline of the Lakewood Marina this afternoon, a first for my 12+
years of weekly counts there. I enjoyed watching as he ran back and
forth across the gravel shore and up into the adjacent lawns and flower
beds, hunting insects.

One Green Heron was also present. Had the gate to the marina not been
open I wouldn't have spotted it . It was working the northern edge of
the little bay north of the entry dock/plank road, an area that is not
visible from the public shoreline. In conversation with one of the
residents, I learned that it has been present for about a year now.
This was my first sighting. Very cool.
