The Puget Sound Bird Obsevatory is teaching a 5 1/2 day (worker-friendly) Avian Monitoring and Bird Banding Workshop this September.

If you work, and you don't want to take lots of vacation to learn how to band birds, this workshop is for you!

Weekend 1: Fri Sept 14, 8am-4pm;
Sat Sept 15, 9am-4pm;
Sun Sept 16, 8am-3pm

Weekend 2: Fri Sept 21, 5pm-9pm;
Sat Sept 22, 9am-4pm;
Sun Sept 23, 8am-3pm

(PLUS 4 half-day sessions working on a color-banding study in the Shoreline area with PSBO banders guiding your banding experience.)

This class will teach you how to:
-age and sex birds
-apply bands on a variety of birds
-erect and take down mist nets
-safely extract birds from nets, and
-document all information

$450 for PSBO members
$500 for nonmembers

Course fees include training, printouts, and the Pyle Guide banding book
