Dear Tweeters,
?
Today (11 August 2012) the Aslanians found two special birds at the Fir Island Game Range, a Black Phoebe and a Stilt Sandpiper. Steve Giles and I arrived just as the Aslanians were leaving, and were able to see the Stilt Sandpiper, but we could not relocate the?phoebe. The sandpiper was in the second pond along the new dike. I believe that was where the phoebe had been, also. Steve and I also saw some birds that we were pretty sure were Baird's Sandpipers, but they never landed. Maybe they might have if there hadn't been two?Peregrine Falcons, two Northern Harriers, and a Cooper's Hawk hanging around out there.
?
Yours truly,
?
