I live one mile from Clallam Bay very close to the coast, but not on it. The weather got dark and windy very fast and a large flock of birds landed on the red elder berry bush right outside my computer window. I?ve never seen them before. There were at least 50. They landed squeaked for about 10 seconds, flew, landed again, flew, landed and then flew off. All in all I was able to view them for maybe 40 seconds. And then they vanished. Leaving very few berries left on the bush. It was a uniform medium almost light brown on the head, down the back and tail feathers. The wings were a mottled darker brown and white, I unfortunately do NOT remember beak color. And their chests were polka dotted with a dark brown/black spot. I do not know the color of beak/feet. Size wise they were approximately the size of a robin. The closest bird I?ve found is a wandering tattler color wise for body/back/wings etc, but not beak/feet. Any suggestions of birds for me to look at with this lack of info and no picture?
Thanks
Tonia Signor.
