Taking my usual early morning walk around DeCoursey Park here in SW Puyallup turned out more exciting
than usual today.
I saw an unusual raptor on the other side of the road where there are condominiums with a small retention
pond , that impounds water draining across the road into the pond in the park. It circled and landed in a tall
evergreen, and as it circled I could plainly see a bright orange " something" in it's talons.
Since I know one of the residents of the condos, and she told me about the koi they introduced, I made the
brilliant conclusion:
the Osprey was having carp for breakfast!

I wasn't the only one excited. The resident Little Green Heron circled and strafed the pond but I think I
scared him off and he flew back across the street to the park where he hangs out.
