Welcome to Washington, Vincent!

For people who are new to the state or planning to visit the state, much
helpful information can be found at
http://birdingwashington.info/

Another useful Web site shows the eBird sightings of the last two weeks
for places and species. You can see on a map where these sightings
occurred. http://birdingwashington.info/dashboard/

> This is my first post, so please be kind! After Labor Day, I will be moving from Naples, FL to the Port Townsend/Sequim area. I am an avid naturalist and birder, having seen over 400+ birds in Florida alone. I can't wait to get to Washington and start the learning process of "your" birds, although I have visited and birded your state before back in 1997-98. Anyway, I am mostly in the dark as to the many locations mentioned on this forum so I thought that perhaps the book: ABA Birdfinding Guide: A Birder's Guide to Washington by Hal Opperman (2003), suggested to me by my good friend and birder Bob Schmidt from Bothell, would help. I checked the ABA Sales department and the book is out-of-print because apparently, a new version is going to be released "soon". Does anyone have any more info on the new edition? Even though ABA Sales does not have the 2003 edition in stock, the Los Angeles Audubon Online Bookstore does have it in stock. My question is: Should I go ahead and grab !
> the 2003 edition from LA Audubon or should I wait for the new edition? Lastly, it would help us newbies to the area if folks gave more specific location info or directions to the locales where they are reporting their sightings. Thanks everyone.
